Questions & Answers

Q - Dear Pastor Vicki,

I have been at my local church for a few years now and am not being used in the capacity I should be.  God has blessed me with many gifts and talents but if I am not allowed to exercise them what good are they? Should I go where I know I will be used or stay and just wait?

Please help.

- A Confused Sister.

A - Dear Confused Sister,

This question could be answered a few ways, however I will minister the way I feel the Lord is directing me. Sometimes in ministry we want to be used the way we desire, how we desire and most of all when we desire. The illustration that comes to my mind is the story of the talents that was given in Mathew 25:16-28.

Sometimes we focus on all the gifts we have and we want to use them and do right by them, but what about the ONE gift that we have that sometimes we want to hide?........ and that gift is faithfulness or commitment or steadfastness. To stand right here and continue to be faithful to my ministry. Why? Because I know that God will allow my leader's to see my faithfulness, then my other gifts room will make room for me . I do believe that our gifts should be used, however I believe that the timing of God is always the right time, and because God is not a God of waste you should be confident in that truth which is the word of GOD) that your gifts shall not go un NOTICED..........................It is all about the Timing of GOD........................

God Bless You
