Confess with Your Mouth
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (KJV)
It’s that easy. No rocket science, no explosion and no sacrificing of your children.
All you have to do is confess with your mouth.
We confess many things on a daily basis.
* I will have that dream job
* I will have that dream home
* I will have that perfect husband
We understand that words are powerful, that’s why we confess our hopes and dreams. The same way we confess our hopes and dreams is the same way salvation works.
As a young adult and as many people in the world, I thought something magical had to take place in order to give my life to Christ.
“God won’t hear me as much as I sin”
“I must get myself together before I make that Jesus confession”
“I have time. I’m still young”
I was wrong. The time is now.
God wants us to come as we are. As imperfect as we are. He knows we are imperfect. He wants to clean us up and he understands that we can not do it alone. We need him, like a newborn needs his mother. We need him like an ocean needs water.
You see, this confession can be made anywhere.
It doesn’t have to be at the altar of a mega church or at a Sunday revival. People are proclaiming their new life and confessing in bathrooms at rest stops. In their home over coffee or at their computer on the job. It doesn’t matter how you do it or where you do it, as long as you do it.
We must confess to see him. We must confess to be born again.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
BAM! You are saved!

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday!
You may be saying, “Today is not my birthday”. Think about it, each day we get to see is a celebration. It’s a birthday celebration.
The Lord has allowed us all to see this day. For that, we should be thankful. Let’s not wait until a new year to celebrate. Let’s celebrate everyday.
Happy Birthday!

Help A Sister NOT get Evicted !!
http://noeviction4l.blogspot.com/
Yesterday a reader called me.
“L” told me that her husband of over 20 yrs left her. Of course,as you can imagine, my thoughts went to when my husband left me, so I could feel her pain. But this woman is not just a reader, she’s a friend.
When her husband wanted to go into full time ministry, she was right there.
She did what so many of us do…we put our ministry on hold to push our spouse into their purpose.
This woman is facing eviction on 10/6/09. Her husband also informed her that he hasn’t paid the rent and they owe for 2 months… oh, did I mention he showed her the lease to his new apartment…I did say she has 3 KIDS, right? ok…
I will get on my soapbox later… but today ”L” needs our help. She needs your prayers, but she also needs some money so her family is not evicted. Right now, it is very shameful and I promised to not share her name. But she will personally thank everyone that helps her.
Like I told her..”God has the final say and he is not going to have u go out like that…it’s too many of us out here that have been there and done that, now what God do what he do!”
Please help “L” by giving what u can. Click here for information
God Bless you and thank you for taking the time to read.

My Weight is Out of Control
My weight is at an all time high. A whopping 173 lbs. (yup! I said it) Some of you will read this and say, ”I can’t believe she told us how much she weighs.”
I’m definitely not proud of my weight, but with everything I share with you, my mindset is — IT IS WHAT IT IS. If I can share that my husband had an affair and had a baby outside of our marriage, I definitely can share my weight (geez). It’s the truth and someone is struggling with this issue. You are not alone, I feel you. By announcing my weight I am holding myself accountable.
Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease are a few diseases that run in my family.
Did you know that Mabel King (Roger & Dee’s mom from What’s Happening) died from complications of diabetes. It’s reported that she had both of her legs amputated because of the disease.
I refuse to be a statistic.
Starting today I am changing my eating and exercise lifestyle.
That’s why I joined SparkPeople.com

Sparkpeople is an online diet and fitness community. It’s very similar to weight watchers with the exception of it being FREE. From diet plans, fitness trackers, food suggestions, and resources, it’s all free. That’s why I was sold.
My goal is to lose 25lbs by January 1, 2010 (pray for a sister).
Below are a few reasons I must lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
1. To honor God by taking care of the temple he gave me (my body)
2. To see my 4 children grown, successful and serving God (I will see it)
3. To see and play with my great grandchildren ( I will see it )
4. To grow old with my lover (my husband)
5. To feel good about myself (inside and out)
Do you have a weight loss goal? Leave us a comment and let us know. We can do this together.

Let’s live healthy and happy!

Are You A Starter or Finisher?
Are you a Starter or a Finisher??
I have to admit, I sure have alot of ideas that flow through this head of mine.
Of course I think they are the best ideas in the world, and everyone should agree (lol).
Recently I got called on starting things and not finishing them… (ouch) uh, oh…what is one to do? After a self check, I would have to agree. I do start things and most times I finish (when I am focused) but sometimes I drop the ball. (yup, I admit it)
A few years ago I heard Jewell Diamond Taylor speak. She is a dynamic speaker and if you ever get a chance to see her, please do.
If you need help staying focused and finishing projects, try these tips she shared with us.
1. Let the Main Thing Be The Main Thing (stay focused on the project at hand)
2. Pay Attention
3. Shut Out Distractions
4. Focus on the task at hand
5. Complete the Task
These tips will help us stay more focused and be a FINISHER !
Stay Blessed,

2nd Annual “I Made It” GED Graduation
Breathe Again Magazine
presents
2nd Annual “I Made It” GED Graduation
Murray Center
455 East Brambleton Ave
Norfolk, Virginia 23510
After the ceremony a parent hugged me and said, “Thank you for doing this for the students. The test is hard and they need to be celebrated for passing it and for turning their life around, I just can’t thank you enough.”
Graduation time is quickly approaching. Schools, families and the media will begin to start preparing for seniors all across this region graduating from high school. That accomplishment is definitely worthy of celebration. But what about those students that didn’t obtain their diploma the traditional way?
There are thousands of people that obtain their GED each year.
Some are celebrated, some are not. It shouldn’t even matter why they went that route, the only thing that matters is they made it.
Last year Breathe Again Magazine hosted the 1st “I Made It Ceremony”. It was a huge success.
On May 14, 2009 we will host the 2nd Annual “I Made It Ceremony ” at the Murray Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Our keynote speaker is Barbara Ciara, Managing Editor of WTKR NewsChannel 3 and President of the National Association of Black Journalists.
