“You Have Not Because You Ask Not”

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Let me first say thank you for trusting us to visit your inbox on a regular basis. We appreciate it. With all the Viagra and the transfer of 6 million dollar emails that flood our inbox it’s a wonder people even open their emails. I pray you are doing well and expecting all that God has in store for you.

“People are willing to help if they know what you are in need of.”

The past 2 years has been a ride for me….ups, downs, twists, turns and some flat out free falls (LOL) But it’s all good and it’s all GOD!! (No, that’s not true as some things God was not in….it was totally Nicole and when it’s totally Nicole, God can’t do what he wants to do until I step aside, as Yolanda said) But through it all lessons have been learned. One major lesson was…I am not an island.

Each day I receive emails from people asking how they can help.

And each day I say, “that’s so nice, she is so sweet”. But don’t take them up on their offer. My mother in law taught me a long time ago that when I reject something from someone I’m blocking their blessing. She would go on to say,” If they are being led to help-let them help. That’s their way of blessing you and they will be blessed by God.”

So I come to you asking for assistance. The magazine is growing by leaps and bounds and we need volunteers. Below you will see the areas we need help in. We want to continue offering a professional product to you but we need your help to do so.

Below are the areas we stand in need of.

* Events Committee (quarterly events for women)
* GED Graduation Ceremony Committee (May 2009)
* Magazine Advisory Board
* Radio Show Guest Hosts
* Guest Bloggers
* Cyber Team (Similar to Street Team–Spread the Good News About Breathe Again Magazine Virtually)
* Graphics Designer (create banners, e-book covers & promo material as needed) all materials created with your website address
* Editorial Team (contributing writers/journalist)
* Partnership Opportunities with Women Ministries
* Affiliates (earn money by promoting BAM Services & Products)

In exchange for your help and commitment we will make sure you are promoted on a page dedicated to our volunteers with link backs to your website/blog.

We are on a mission to reach the masses – Our mission is to ensure that no woman goes through their pain alone. Help us make that a reality. We can do more together than alone.

Imagine the millions we can reach TOGETHER.

If you are willing to help please send an email to help@breatheagain.org and let us know what area you are interested in. – Thank you in advance & I PRAISE HIM in advance for YOU.

Blessings,

Nicole

Does God Really Exist?

Published by admin under Uncategorized

In conversation this past week I was able to witness to the goodness of the Lord. God has blessed me with material things but my “witness’ was to who he is in my life. How he has kept me.

Material things are great but NOTHING can compare or outweigh PEACE, GRACE & MERCY (in my opinion)

The question snuck in there somehow. “Does God really exist?”

She went on to say. “With all these good people dying and these crazy pedophiles able to live forever and do their dirt he can’t exist. Maybe we are being taught wrong” she went on to say.

This bring me to a story I once heard a preacher tell on the Word Network.

Story goes like this.

A young boy was in college & he had a non believer for a neighbor. He always talked about God and the neighbor always argued Gods existence. He would say “God can’t exist. I can’t see him, touch him, hear him, smell him or feel him”.

It doesn’t make sense.

The debating went on for a while until; one night the neighbor came banging on his door pleading for help.

“What’s wrong” said the believer

“Man , I got a toothache & it hurts”

The non believer was almost in tears. “Call the ambulance”

The believer smiled and moved in on his opportunity to witness.

Then the belier asked the following questions.

“Can you see it?”

“What are you talking about?’

“Your pain man – the toothache”

“No, I can’t see it”

“Can you hear it?”

“No, I can’t hear it – it’s a toothache”

“Well, what about touch it – can you touch it “

“No I can’t touch it - it’s a toothache.”

“Well – it seems to me that if you can’t see it, smell it, hear it or touch it , the pain must not exist. It just doesn’t make no sense. If it’s real, surely you can do this things……”

********************

He made a believer out of him that night.

I love that story.

Just because I can’t see him, smell him or touch him doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist. My faith tells me that he is REAL. And that’s enough for me. I can’t explain it. It’s totally beyond my comprehension.

Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Stay Blessed,

Nicole

Please Help Woman Born Without Arms

Published by admin under News

Read the plea that was sent to the US Senator, Governor, Representative, Airport Official, Disability Organization, and Congressman…….

Dear Senator,

My name is Tawana Williams; I am a disabled Motivational Speaker/Author. I was born without arms, and have overcome many challenges in my 45 years of being on this earth. I don’t know where to start with this challenge, so I’m starting here, at the beginning. I’ve been traveling for 12 years as a Speaker, motivating people of all walks of life with my message of hope & inspiration. We travel to schools, churches, prisons, day cares, corporations, nursing homes, etc. challenging people to live there best life. Most of the time my husband Toby drives me to my events, but lately we’ve been having to fly, because of the long distance. When flying, I pay for my airline ticket as every one else does. My problem is in the Airports, there are NO Family Assistant Rest Rooms. I need my husbands’ assistance when using the rest room in public places. Recently, traveling through Dallas Ft.Worth Airport (they do have a FARR) but, it is in another Concourse, and to get there, I’d have to take the train there and back; it’s just not enough time to do that when you have a short lay over. So therefore, I had to hold it until we got on the Airplane. If you’ve ever been in an Airplane commercial sized rest room, you know how small it is, I’m 4 ft. 5-1/2 inches tall, and my husband Toby is 6 ft. 2-inches tall, can you imagine how hard it is for the both of us to squeeze into that small space… So, on behalf of myself, my disabled friends, and the many disabled travelers in America, I want to know how to get a Law/Bill passed stating that every Airport in America Must have a Family Assistance Restroom.

Please support this petition by sending an email to motivationalspeaker2003@yahoo.com
with your name & email address and I’ll add you to my electronic Petition.

Thanks, and God Bless America…

Love,

Tawana Williams

E-Mail Addiction: Five Signs You Need Help

Published by admin under Uncategorized

(IDG News Service)

Quick: When’s the last time you checked your e-mail? If you’re like most Americans, the answer is likely within the last 15 minutes — even if you’re not at work. And if you carry a PDA in your pocket, your problem is probably far worse. Some doctors estimate more than 11 million people have e-mail habits that interfere with their lives. Are you one of them?

Forming a deep relationship with your inbox can eat away at your real-life relationships — you know, the ones with your friends, kids, or significant other…those people you used to converse with face-to-face.

The good news, though, is spotting an e-addiction and correcting it isn’t too tough. First, recognize the signs:

You check your e-mail more than once an hour, even when you aren’t on the clock. You look at every message that comes in, as it comes in, either at or away from the office. You feel the need to respond to messages instantly or within minutes of when they arrive. You interrupt real, in-person activities on a regular basis to deal with e-mail. E-mail has, in some way, interfered with your regular life — be it in the form of sleep loss, relationship troubles, stress, or any other noticeable effect.
If you’re still here and haven’t toggled windows to check your inbox, here are some tips to help curb your electronic enslavement:

1. Remember, there’s no such thing as an e-mail emergency. Remind yourself that no e-mail is going to self-destruct if you don’t read it right away. If something is incredibly urgent, the sender will call, text, or otherwise reach you.

2. Give yourself a curfew. Treat yourself like a teenager. Decide on a specific cut-off time for sending and reading messages, and stick to it. If you get home at 6, commit to shutting down the computer at 7. You’ll thank yourself in a year when your real life has returned.

3. Schedule e-mail times. Set specific times during which you’ll deal with e-mail, and don’t do it outside of those windows. Maybe it’s 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes at lunch, and 10 mid-afternoon. Stick to it and watch your day suddenly open up with extra time.

4. Set aside a “NO E-MAIL” day. A bigger break from the ol’ send-and-receive might just be the best thing to cure your compulsion. A once a week change in routine can help you keep things in perspective, both psychologically and biologically. “Response prevention is the thing that’s most helpful,” Dr. Robert Gore, a Beverly Hills psychologist specializing in addiction, explains. “You don’t do the thing that you find compulsively appealing. Once people learn that, their brains actually change on a biological level.” If you can’t cope with taking a full day off, try only checking your e-mail for five minutes Saturday morning — then leaving the rest of the day e-free.

5. Take a vacation. Once you’re ready to really kick things up a notch, schedule yourself a full week away from electronics. It’s just what the doctor ordered. “I think most people in the world could really benefit by having a day that’s completely free of any electronic mediation — to sort of get back to things that are more natural, more deeply fulfilling than all these electronic gadgets,” Gore says.
The final step may be the toughest of all, but it could make a world of difference: Put the damned Blackberry down. Turn your PDA off when you get home, or at least disable the instant e-mail checking function. Your messages will wait. Your life will not.

Thoughts? Questions? Shoot me an e-mail. Odds are, I’ll respond within two minutes…regardless of the time or day.

Lord, I’m trying not to go off…(what sets you off?)

Published by admin under Uncategorized

It seems like I had a target on my back a few weeks ago that said ” TEST HER PATIENCE”

Ok - where do I start?

Blackberry - If you have ever spent anytime around me you know I am addicted to my Crackberry - I mean Blackberry. I have hundreds of contacts, I use it to get online, email, calendar, phone…etc. It was working oh so great until that fatal Sunday afternoon driving home from church .It just died. It went to sleep never to awaken again. And when I say it never woke up, I mean it NEVER woke up. It would not even turn on.

Ask me did I synchronize it to my computer—- NOPE

So all my contacts LOST…I am starting from scratch. (Pray for me!)

Then my DSL started to act crazy. In my quest to contact customer service I was transferred 3 times and ended up speaking to someone in India that clearly was reading a script and looking for the answers on his FAQ. Each time he could not locate an answer he would put me on hold to ask his superior. To say I was annoyed was an understatement…I ALMOST went there. I was really close. Thank God for being the keeper of my tongue…(can I be real???)

Those are just a few things that ALMOST made me go off-trust me there were several others…

I know some of you got it together and would never think about going off. But that’s not me. The Lord is still working on me and some things ALMOST take me there. The key is ALMOST.

What sets you off?

Is it the phone company, dirty dishes, loud people, telemarketers, church folk, your boss - whatever it is let us know how you handle those instances. Help a sister out so none of us have to go there…

Oh by the way - the way I get around these things is to think about everything God has delivered me from (especially my mouth and those loose lips) When I contemplate on HIS goodness and the things he’s done for me I realize that whoever is working my NERVE is not worth me going backwards. I am a new creature.

But if by chance they take me there and I go (which would be a choice) I must not wallow in guilt and beat myself up. I must admit that I messed up, (it was my choice)

Repent and try again. ( that simple )

Most times people push our buttons just to see how we will react.

Leave us a comment and tell us what pushes your button and how do you handle it?

Stay Blessed,

Nicole

Are you Scared of Snakes??

Published by admin under Uncategorized

While on vacation my family and I did something we have never done before. We rented a boat and went out on the lake. I love yachts and cabin boats.

Every time we ride by a marina I always say, “Lord I want a boat. I want to be able to go out on the water and be at peace”

Be careful what you pray for.

OK - I absolutely hate snakes.

I’m afraid of them. I know, I know. The bible says he has not given us the spirit of fear; but of love, power and a sound mind.

Part of overcoming something is to admit there is something to overcome. I can be all deep and say I don’t fear anything or anyone but God. But that would be a lie. (the Lord is still working on me)

Anyway, my family and I started to talk to the workers at this park and proceeded to ask them about snakes. And very nonchalantly the worker said “Oh yeah - there are quite a few on the trails and down by the lake” Like it was an innocent goldfish. “HELLO these are snakes. At this point my husband is snickering and I am looking at this woman like she has three heads thinking” seriously- “you know there are snakes and you don’t protect the people by removing them?”

Anyhoo with some coaxing by my husband and kids we decide to rent a boat and go out on the lake. Now I love the water. It is so peaceful. But this wasn’t the water I expected to be on. This was dirty and all I could think about was a water monster eating us or an alligator coming to swallow us whole or even an anaconda - because this was the type of water we were in. (Lake Placid!!)

I said a prayer and decided to make memories. This was a memory we will cherish (and it was quite amusing as we thought my 10 yr old was going to drop the oar in the water and we would be stranded in the middle of the lake– LOL)

Face your fear and treasure your memories. I did (and we didn’t see any snakes - THANK YOU JESUS )

Leave me a comment and let me know what are you scared of?

I promise you won’t be judged as we have a rule here.

NO JUDGING ALLOWED ;)

Blessings,

Nicole

Bobby Kennedy speech

Published by admin under Uncategorized

A powerful and prophetic thought rendered by Robert Kennedy 40 years ago: He gave a speech to the “Voice of America” all around the world and despite what was going on in the country, particularly in Alabama, Bobby Kennedy said this in 1968:
“Things are moving so fast in race relations a Negro could be president in 40 years. There’s no question about it, in the next 40 years a Negro can achieve the same position that my brother has. Prejudice exists and probably will continue to, but we have tried to make progress and we are making progress. We are not going to accept the status quo.”

This is a true story. You can check it out at
