What are you thankful for?

Published by admin under Intro's

Air, arms, legs, food and good health are a few things I am thankful for.
To live in a free country.
To worship and express my religion freely.
To wake up each day in my right mind.
To have an African American elected to be the next President of the
United States of America.

For family, a job, cars to drive, a warm home and to be in the land of the living.

But I don’t have to wait for a holiday (Thanksgiving) to be thankful.
I wake up each morning and express how grateful I am for yet another day.

This song expresses how grateful I am. I hope it blesses you.

On this Thanksgiving, may I encourage you to mend relationships and forgive those that have hurt you, even apologize to those you have hurt. Make the most out of each day from this day forward. Tomorrow is not promised.

Leave a comment and let our readers know what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for you – our readers. I appreciate you so much. May all your dreams come true.

Stay Blessed

The mission of the Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc. (ULHR) is to enable African Americans and others to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power and civil rights. This is a fabulous opportunity to those of you that want to make a difference in your community.

I attended this event last year and the networking alone was second to none. But outside of that won’t you consider supporting this organization that does so much in the lives of our people and especially our African American Youth. Check out the you tube video from last years event.

Join the Urban League of Hampton Roads for a day of networking, empowerment, information and FOOD!

No Excuses

Published by admin under Intro's

It’s so easy to get into a complaining slump these days.

Money, family, lack of money, not enough money and the need for more money are a few things that I hear complaints about.

Every now and then you need a wake up call that puts life into perspective.

A few issues back I introduced you to Tawana Williams, author of “UnArmed But Dangerous“. She shared her miraculous testimony of being born without arms and being an inspiration to people all over this world.

If you are in the Richmond or the Tidewater area I encourage you to come out and hear Tawana’s story face to face.

Tawana will be the Keynote speaker in Richmond Virginia on November 8, 2008 at the AIMWW Women’s Conference - Take The Limits Off, November 6, 2008 through November 9, 2008.

If you didn’t get a chance to read or listen to the interview click here

Hope to see you there.
