“What’s the Word (Bible) Mean to you?”

Published by admin under Weekly Scripture

What’s the Word Mean to You? Every other week we will post a scripture and ask what’s the word mean to you?

Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap ,if we faint not.

Stay the course, don’t give up. No matter what it looks like.

Keep doing the right thing even when everyone else wants to fall back.

What you shall reap is far greater than what you can imagine.

God does it big when we are faithful and obedient, even when we want to give up.

Life Compared to Frogger

Published by admin under Intro's

I pray your day is going well. While watching a child play a video game I began to cross compare the game to life.

Life is similar to a video game but more realistic. Think about it, we go from level to level, screen to screen always trying to beat the game. For me it was just the level (I didn’t even try to beat the game when I was younger). As a child I used to love Frogger, Pac man, and Donkey Kong. But Frogger was my favorite. (although I always got hit by a car or a truck). The more I played the game the more I understood how to move my man. The screen was the same, each level was the same. Eventually the more you played you knew when and where to move so you didn’t die. But you had to study your opponent. You had to know when the car was gonna dart out to hit you or the evil person was gonna come to eat you.

As in life, you know what your weakness is, you know if you don’t pass this particular test you can’t go to the next level. Surround yourself with people that will push you and pull greatness out of you. Don’t die on the first level. Study your opponent.

Let’s go to the next level together.

Stay Blessed

Help our Young Girls

Published by admin under Expressions from the Editor

This past week I was blessed to be a guest on Soaring Eagles Radio Show with Rhonda White.

In the conversation I mentioned how I believe we should be helping others. We must do our part in this world. That is why we Host the Annual GED Graduation Ceremony for local graduates.

One organization on the move is A Sisters Heart in Chesapeake, Virginia under the leadership of Evangelist Mirium Holt. They recognize their young women as the Daughters of Destiny. This is an excellent way to recognize the young women in your church and community. With all the negative influences thrown at our young women, this is a needed initiative. You Go Evangelist Holt!!!

They have a fabulous fundraiser for their upcoming Princess Weekend. (hint…women suits) If you are in the area support these young women - they are our future. Below is a Q & A with Evangelist Holt regarding the Daughters of Destiny.

What is the Daughters of Destiny?

Daughters of Destiny is a group of young girls, ages 13 to 17. They educated on how to be more effective in this society. They are paired with women that have been where they are. They are assisted in making career choices and basically told they can be what they want to be.

How many years have you been doing this?

3 years

Why do you think it is important that we reach our young girls?

Our young girls are going the wrong way. They are allowing people to tell them who they are versus them knowing for themselves. One of our girls went to Europe. We want them to know they can travel the world if they desire.

You have a very unique way in raising money for this, tell me about the suit sale?

We have designer suits on sale this weekend. (boutique style) The sale helps with our princess weekend which occurs once a year. The cost per girl is $300. We have 25 girls in attendance. The weekend includes; a suit, dinner, massage, and a shopping spree, where each girl receives a visa card. We are teaching them how to use “plastic but don’t abuse it.”

The weekend shows how a girl is suppose to be treated. On the Saturday night of the weekend we have a formal dinner where each girl is crowned by there mother. Because we know each girl is a Princess.

Daughters of Destiny has events all throughout the year.

From Cutting to Christ, Fantasia, and Worm Tumors

Published by admin under Expressions from the Editor

Imagine being abused and turning to self mutilation… Imagine being addicted to drugs and not seeing a way out… Imagine being lured into a cult… Imagine being told you were in bed with your father but not remembering if it even happened.

Nikki doesn’t have to imagine, this was her life. Listen as she shares her victorious story of being delivered and set free.

“I remember being outside by myself and picking up a rock and pulling it hard back and forth across my arm. It sounds crazy but the pain felt so good. When I saw the blood start to trickle out it relaxed me. I know it sounds nuts but slashing my arms with razor blades and rocks was the only way I knew I was still alive.”

“What’s the Word (Bible) Mean to you?”

Published by admin under Weekly Scripture

What’s the Word Mean to You? Every other week we will post a scripture and ask what’s the word mean to you?

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these
things.

What does this mean to me?

Life is too short to worry about what life is NOT. Instead, think on the good things. I won’t complain, won’t be negative and won’t waste my time on things that really don’t matter and things or people that won’t change.

The scripture is telling me to make the most out of life, be happy & Give God the Glory in ALL things.

Leave a comment and let us know what you think.
