Are You A Starter or Finisher?

Are you a Starter or a Finisher??

I have to admit, I sure have alot of ideas that flow through this head of mine.

Of course I think they are the best ideas in the world, and everyone should agree (lol).

Recently I got called on starting things and not finishing them… (ouch) uh, oh…what is one to do? After a self check, I would have to agree. I do start things and most times I finish (when I am focused) but sometimes I drop the ball. (yup, I admit it)

A few years ago I heard Jewell Diamond Taylor speak. She is a dynamic speaker and if you ever get a chance to see her, please do.

If you need help staying focused and finishing projects, try these tips she shared with us.

1. Let the Main Thing Be The Main Thing (stay focused on the project at hand)

2. Pay Attention

3. Shut Out Distractions

4. Focus on the task at hand

5. Complete the Task

These tips will help us stay more focused and be a FINISHER !

Stay Blessed,

Silly Saturday- Fun with Wrestling

Published by admin under Silly Saturday

Laugh Until it Hurts

My kids & I have a lot of fun. We sing, dance, act goofy and laugh an awful lot in my house.

I will try almost anything once (legal, that is) & I love a good dare from my children (they keep me young).

A few weeks ago my girls and I went to the Open House at the Southside School of Professional Wrestling, in Virginia Beach, VA.

While there the kids kept challenging me so I had to get in the ring & bust a few moves. But…something strange happened. After I got in the ring I discovered I was not as young as them.

Next thing you know my 5 yr old was jumping on my neck and my 11 yr old hit me with some type of sweep move and BAM!, my legs gave out and down I went…

Despite my lack of WWE skills, we had a lot of fun.

Live, Love, & Laugh until it Hurts.

Enjoy the pictures.

Time Lost, GED Photos, Have you Been Hurt in Church? & Poems that Minister

Published by admin under Intro's

Time flies, whether your having fun or not. It doesn’t wait on you.

Next month my 5 yr old will be graduating from Pre K and my 11 yr old will be graduating from elementary school.

How did that happen?

Last month I saw two cousins I have not seen in over 10 yrs.

How did that happen?

Don’t let time sneak up on you. Make the most of every minute with family and friends. Make memories that will last a lifetime.

Take time and call an old friend or family member you have lost contact with.

You won’t regret it.

Stay Blessed,

Wednesday’s Heroes - Surrender 40 “FEED THE NEED”

Published by admin under Wednesday's Heroes

As I was researching who I would feature  for our very 1st post, I remembered several updates on twitter regarding feeding the hungry and how this husband and wife are doing exactly what Jesus has commanded us to do.

Meet Steve & Trachena Muchnick

http://surrender40.blogspot.com

They are feeding the hungry and preaching the gospel on the streets of Miami. All in love.

No fancy church, no organ, nope none of that. They are allowing the homeless of Miami to see Jesus through them.

When you click on their site this is the 1st thing you see

Surrender 40 “FEED THE NEED”

It is simple we feed the Homeless of our City and bring the Word of God to them. We are believing God “BIG” for our City. Someday God willing He will open up doors for us to do this fulltime. Please pray for us and IF you are lead, click the donate button and help us feed.

Make a moment & find out more information on the “love bags” they distribute.

God Bless you Mr. & Mrs Muchnick.

Music that Ministers Monday - “It Ain’t Over” by Maurette Brown Clark

Published by admin under Music that Ministers Monday

Song: It Ain’t Over

Artist: Maurette Brown Clark

Lyrics : “But the impossible is God’s chance to work a miracle…Just know, it ain’t over, until God says it’s done…keep fighting until your victory is won”

Why Does it Minister to You?: Those words sink to the core and touch the inside of the issue. It reminds us that God has the final say, despite what man says and despite what it looks like. Last week I had a “moment” with God and this song came on and spoke to my heart. Cause It Ain’t Over!

True Ministry - Are You Making a Difference?

Published by admin under Intro's

 Courtesy of Google Images

As I walked in the door my husband said, “How did it go?”I turned to him with tears in my eyes and said, “It was one of the best experiences I have had in my life.”

This particular night was one of the best experiences I’VE HAD because it was true ministry.

I am at a point in my life that I MUST make a difference. Life has served me too many curve balls and I have obtained many lessons. It is my DUTY – my calling to give back.  As I write this I get all misty eyed because it’s so important to the Kingdom of God. It’s bigger than the 4 walls of the church building. Preaching to each other (or as they say - preaching to the choir).

Ministry is outreach. What can I do in my community? What need is not being met? Who is hungry? Without clothes? Motherless…fatherless? How can I make a difference?

Sitting pretty on a pedestal is great. Wearing the best hats and fancy designer clothes is wonderful, but who are we reaching? Church as usual should be dead. Most people don’t even know why they go to church. When you ask them they say because their Mom & grandmother attended and that “it’s just right” to do on Sundays. That’s so sad.

GOD’S SQUAD

Each week I get tons of invitations to visit ministries / events going on in the community and even abroad.

Every so often I get this one invitation from one of our readers to join“God Squad“ at the Norfolk Detention Center. Every 3rd Saturday God Squad ministers at the Norfolk & Virginia Beach Detention Center. There is always a conflict with my schedule. But this time I was able to move some things around to attend.

And I am so glad I did. To talk to the detainees was a blessing. Contrary to what most believe, the detainees that I was able share with knew what they wanted out of life. They just needed some guidance (and to be loved on).  We did mock interviews with the boys & girls and walked them through the interview process.

At the end there was a chance for the detainees to give their lives to Christ. I closed my eyes and began to pray as all the volunteers did. When I opened my eyes 15 new souls were added to the kingdom. You know the bible says “WHEN ONE SOUL IS ADDED THE ANGELS GO TO REJOICING” But that night 15 were added. And it wasn’t at a big fancy church. It was at the Norfolk Detention Center and I was able to contribute is some small way.

Kudos to God Squad, for the work they are doing in the community.

God Squad was recently featured on The 700 Club. Check it out here Church of the Week.

Divine Connections

Published by admin under Intro's

Are you Connected?

Recently I had a conversation with a business colleague. We talked about all sorts of things. The conversation suddenly shifted to “Being Connected ”. Not just connected, but having a “Divine Connection”. I looked up the word Divine.

1. of or pertaining to a God, esp the Supreme Being

2. devoted to God

3. proceeding from God

4. God like; characteristic

A few years ago I was overly anxious to move forward in my business but I needed help. I was so excited and in a hurry. But the bible speaks about this.

Philippians 4:6 (King James Version)

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

My prayer was “Send me anyone”  (big mistake)

A few thousand dollars later, months of frustration, hurt and being taken advantage of, I had to eat my humble pie, admit I made a mistake and move on. You see, the vision God has given me (and you) is so precious. It can not be connected to just anything and anybody.

If the Lord has blessed you with a spouse, kids, job, business, church, home, car etc.. you have to be very careful what you connect it to and who you share it with. If the Lord has given you a vision, it must be guarded.

Don’t just get connected, make sure it’s a Divine Connection.

Stay Blessed,
